Charlotte, North Carolina – After leading his team to a perfect 2-0 record last week and helping them enter the NJCAA Division III Men's Soccer poll for the first time since the 2000s, BMCC men's soccer freshman forward Sebastien George (Brooklyn, New York) earned NJCAA Division III Offensive Player Of The Week honors as announced by the NJCAA on Wednesday.
George netted four goals in the Panther's two victories last week, notching the first goal during a 5-1 win over Orange County Community College, and followed it up with his first career hat trick during a dominant 5-1 upset of NJCAA Division III No. 8 ranked Westchester Community College last Saturday. The Brooklyn, New York native scored the equalizer on a Penalty Kick in the 21st minute, then scored two more markers in the second half in the 58th minute and 77th minute against the Vikings.
Five of his eight goals are versus NJCAA Soccer Division III ranked opponents this year, with one each against No. 7 Ulster County Community College and No. 8 Kingsborough Community College and three tallies last Saturday against No. 8 Westchester Community College. George is second on the Panthers with eight goals and 18 points. His eight markers are tied for 10th most in a single season. 11 of his 18 points are also against ranked opponents this year.
The Panthers will look to win three consecutive CUNY Championships next Sunday, October 20, against Queensborough Community College at Kingsborough Athletics Field in Brooklyn, New York. For more information, visit the BMCC Men's Soccer Schedule.
