The facility is available for current BMCC student, faculty, and staff.
*Students/Faculty/Staff must carry ID card at all times while using athletic facilities

Fitness Center Rules

These rules are in effect for the safety & consideration of all those using the Panther Fitness Center
No charging cell phones in Athletic areas, BMCC staff are not responsible for personal property.
No street clothes, proper exercise clothes (sneakers, sweats or shorts, and t-shirts) are required to use the fitness center.
Bags, jackets, books and other personal belongings are not permitted in the Fitness Center.
It is your responsibility to store personal belongings before entering the facility.
Locks are not provided by the athletic department, please bring your own lock for use in the locker room.
No food allowed in the facility. Water in a spill-proof bottle is permitted.

Be considerate of those waiting to use equipment.
Exercisers must make the equipment available to other exercisers in-between sets.
No reserving or hoarding weights for your personal use.
Do not rest on the equipment.
Dumbbells, bars and accessories must remain inside of the free weight room.
Bench press bars are for benching only.

All plates, dumbbells, bars and accessories are to be returned to their original storage positions after the completion of a set. Responsibility for returning equipment may be passed onto another fitness center user if they offer to take the equipment.

No dropping or throwing weights
Bars and plate weights could seriously injure others around you and may result in damage to the equipment.
If you need to do controlled drops - speak with the trainer first.

Collars and spotters are REQUIRED when using free-weight bars.
Athletic department staff are not responsible for spotting for fitness center users, it is the responsibility of the exerciser to indentify spotters/workout partners that are capable of safely spotting.
When a spotter is not available, consider using exercise machines as a safer alternative.
Be considerate of others in all of your movements in the facility.
Always be aware of others while performing an exercise and moving around the room.
Only equipment approved by the Athletic Department is allowed in the free weight area.
If you wish to use personal exercise equipment, please speak with the trainer first.
Jump ropes are not permitted in the fitness center.
Only persons using the facility are permitted in the area.
No congregating or loitering allowed in the fitness center.
Users of the fitness center are required to wipe down the equipment immediately after use.

BMCC strongly suggests that you consult with your doctor before beginning any type of exercise or physical activity.
