Panthers Blast Broncos
NEW YORK, NY - The Panthers opened to the 2026 season with a bang, blasting past the Broncos of Bronx Community College, by a final score of 3-1. After a scoreless first half, the Panthers offensive kicked into high gear unleashing 3 second half goals. BMCC opened the 2nd half scoring on a goal from
Thierno Sow (Conakry, Guinea) who found the back of the net off an assist from sophomore
Angel Munoz (New York, New York). Adding to the Panthers offensive attack was fellow sophomore
Omar Sanyang (Brikama, Gambia). Sanyang, who finished last season 1st-team All-Region and CUNY All-Conference, picked up right where he left off scoring 2 goals in the season opener; both assisted by
Doro Niang (Dakar, Senegal).
In net for the Panthers was freshman
Juan Moreno (Medellin, Colombia) who saved 5 of the 6 shots on goal from the Broncos.
With the win, the Panthers start the 2026 season 1-0 overall, 1-0 conference.
