Middletown, New York - The BMCC men's soccer team scored three first-half goals to take down Orange County Community College on the road in a 5-1 victory on Tuesday afternoon. The Panthers improve to 7-3-1 (7-3-1 Region XV) while the Colts drop to 0-10-2 (0-9-2 Region XV).
The Panthers offense got things started in the 18th minute and 33 seconds apart, with goals from freshmen Sebastien George (Brooklyn, New York) and Clovens Loussaint (Brooklyn, New York) making it 2-0. Loussaint's marker was his team-leading seventh of the season, while George notched his fifth of the year, which is second on the team.
Classmate Cameron Epenit (Stamford, Connecticut) added to BMCC's advantage in the 42nd minute, scoring an unassisted goal to give the Panthers a 3-0 lead at halftime.
BMCC would keep their pedal to the medal in the second half as sophomore Sebastian Duran (Chile) buried a marker from sophomore Nikola Ivkovic (Belgrade, Serbia) in the 54th minute, and freshman Aboubacar Barry (Brooklyn, New York) scored unassisted in the 80th. The Colts would add a goal in the second half, but it wouldn't be enough as BMCC would take it 5-1.
Freshman El Momar Coundoul (Bronx, New York) made six stops on the afternoon for the Panthers.
The Panthers will look to defeat their third nationally ranked opponent this season in their home finale on Saturday, October 12, against NJCAA Division III No. 8 ranked Westchester Community College at Pier 40. For more information, visit the BMCC Men's Soccer Schedule.
