New York, New York | This week's "Sophomore Spotlight" is about series of profiles about five men's basketball players from the 2019-20 season, continuing with point guard
Terrance McBride (Brooklyn, New York).
From the opening tip of the 2019-20 campaign,
McBride was the Panther's go-to player during his only season at BMCC, leading his squad in points (516) and scoring average (21.5), which were both fourth-most in BMCC single-season history. The Brooklyn native racked up a team-high 23 double-figure games in 24 contests, including seven straight to end the year.
During his short time in Panther uniform,
McBride also etched his name into the BMCC All-Time record books finishing 11th in program history with 516 career points passing
Brandon Herriot.
McBride also provided the 2019-20 campaign with some exciting moments as he knocked down two game-winning shots in CUNYAC play against on
Bronx C.C. on Dec. 10, 2019, and
Queensborough C.C. on Feb. 4, 2020.
The
2019-20 CUNYAC All-Star and
2019-20 All-Region XV Honorable Mention selection, reached the 30-point plateau a team-best four times, with his best effort coming on Feb. 8, 2020, against Rockland Community College when he dropped a career-high 33 points and seven three-pointers. He also posted 20 points eleven times during the season, which was good for second on the team as well.
McBride also concluded his time at 199 Chambers Street tops on BMCC in assists (109) and steals (46) and second in rebounds (119), which were also career-bests, while his 109 career assists were good for 17th in program history.
McBride, a graduate of Landmark High School in Brooklyn, New York, is majoring in Liberal Arts at BMCC.
Below is a video of head coach
Tommy Guerin reflections on their experience together at BMCC:
We thank Terrance for his impact on the BMCC men's basketball program through his contributions on and off the court. We wish him good luck in his future endeavors.
