NEW YORK, NY - The BMCC Panthers Men's Basketball team went on the road and defeated NJCAA Division II Ulster County College Senators by a score of 70-60. BMCC once again came out strong defensively in the first half, holding the Senators to only 23 first half points. On the offensive end, they continued their hot shooting from deep, connecting on 6 three-pointer with contributions from
Brandon Duran, Alijah Banks, and
Wilson Rodriguez, and took a 33-23 lead into the half.
The second half saw the Panthers attack the Senators interior. With the aggressive attack, BMCC would take 14 free throws; connecting on 10 of them. Defensively the Panthers controlled the glass, collecting 43 rebounds, 13 of which were collected by
Alijah Banks (Brooklyn, New York). Alijah finished the game with an impressive double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds. Joining Alijah with a double-double was freshman
Noah Smith (Brooklyn, New York) who finished with 13 points and 10 assists.
PANTHERS LEADERS
With the win, BMCC improves to 10-12 overall (8-11 in region, 5-5 in conference). The Panthers return to action Saturday, February 14th, for their regular season finale against Region XV foe Nassau Community College in Garden City, NY.
