Box Score Bayside, New York--- The Borough of Manhattan Community College Panthers Men's Basketball squad fell to the Queensborough Tigers tonight, 85-68.

The Tigers caught an early lead and were up by as much as 14 points in the first half. Despite the Panthers closing the deficit to five points late in the second half, the Tigers pulled away and claimed their first CUNYAC win of the season.

"I thought we were better tonight than we were against Nassau on Saturday," says Head Men's Basketball Coach, Tommy Keenan. "The biggest issue is on the defensive end of the floor; We just aren't getting the stops we need at times."

Despite the costly turnover ratio, Nelson Benzan earned the teams first double-double of the season, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for the evening. Spencer Barnes flirted with a double-double, grabbing a team-high fifteen rebounds and scoring eight points. Romahar Joseph also contributed to the defensive effort with three steals and six defensive rebounds.

"We got their lead down to five and six points several times in the second half, but we couldn't get over the hump," said Coach Keenan.

Jeremiah Cardi, whose efforts against Kingsborough in the season opener earned him CUNY Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week honors for week one, lead the team in scoring with 16 points. He also contributed five rebounds and four assists.

With the loss, the Panthers fall to 1-2 overall, and 1-1 in CUNYAC play. Non-conference play picks up on Thursday, November 18 in a double-header against Region XV opponent, Monroe Express.
