FLUSHING, N.Y. (Feb. 9, 2019) - With league play concluding this past week, the field for the 2018-19 CUNYAC Community College Men's Basketball Championship is now set.

The tournament is set to be played at BMCC Gymnasium, with semifinal action getting underway Wednesday (Feb. 13). The final is slated for Friday, Feb. 15 at 8:30 p.m. and will be broadcasted worldwide on Facebook Live. You can order your tickets now by clicking here.

Hostos clinched the tournament's No. 1 seed and secured the league's regular-season crown on the final day of the conference schedule. The Caimans avoided a potential four-way tie for first place in the CUNYAC standings with a decisive 103-87 victory against Bronx.

Hostos enters the championship as winners of five of its last six games against Region XV opposition. The Caimans' only defeat came at the hands of No. 1 ranked and undefeated Suffolk County Community College on Jan. 31.

After getting out to one of the hottest starts in program history, BMCC claimed the No. 2 seed. The Panthers opened the 2018-19 campaign with an unblemished 14-0 record and knocked off then-No. 1 Brookdale Community College, 115-95, in the process.

However, BMCC, which ranked as high as No. 2 in the NJCAA Division III Top 10 Poll this season, has dropped six of its last seven contests. Three of those losses came against conference opponents and were decided by six points or less.

Queensborough was one of those teams and will face BMCC in the semifinals as the No. 3 seed. The Tigers and Panthers split the regular-season series, with both teams preserving home-court advantage. Queensborough is looking to advance to its first CUNYAC final since 2013 and win its first league title in over 15 years (2003).

Bronx will make its return to the conference tournament as the No. 4 seed, after a one-year absence. The Broncos have had recent success on the CUNY postseason stage, winning three straight league championships from 2011-13 and advancing to the conference final in 2014 and 2015, as well.

Bronx will play top-seeded and nearby rival Hostos in the tournament's opening semifinal on Wednesday. The Caimans won both regular-season meetings, eclipsing the century mark in the efforts. Hostos won a close 106-102 decision at home on Nov. 13, before defeating the Broncos on the road on Feb. 7 to win the league's regular-season title.
