NEW YORK, N.Y. (Feb. 15, 2018) - The City University of New York Athletic Conference and Army ROTC unveiled their 2017-18 Community College Men's Basketball All-Stars on Thursday at the Water Club in Manhattan.
BMCC's
Quran Dublin and
Tommy Guerin were named the CUNYAC Player and Coach of the Year, respectively. Queensborough's
Keison McIntosh earned Rookie of the Year praise.
Player of the Year - Quran Dublin, Fr, G, BMCC
Dublin was unanimously voted as the league's Player of the Year, earning first-place votes from all four head coaches. He currently averages a team-best 20.8 points per game on 58.8 percent shooting from the field. That includes a 51.9 percent clip from beyond the arc, which ranks third-best amongst all NJCAA Division III players.
Dublin, who also leads the Panthers in assists (100) and steals (42), has committed just 43 turnovers in 21 games played for an average of only 2.04 turnovers per contest.
Rookie of the Year - Keison McIntosh, Fr, G, Queensborough
McIntosh has been a consistent deep threat for the Tigers this season, shooting a solid 41.5 percent from deep. His 107 made three-pointers are good for third-best in the country.
In addition, McIntosh is averaging the second-highest scoring clip on the team at 16.8 points per game. He has scored in double figures in each of his last 11 contests, as well.
Coach of the Year - Tommy Guerin, BMCC
Guerin has led the Panthers to the CUNYAC Championship final for the second-straight year, after a regular-season finish of 19-6 and a perfect 8-0 mark in league play.
Under his tutelage, BMCC has placed in the Top 10 in the nation in five statistical categories this season, including field-goal percentage, three-point field-goal percentage and scoring.
