Box Score 2 BROOKLYN, NY| The Borough of Manhattan Community College men's and women's soccer teams defeated their Kingsborough Community College counterparts 7-0 and 2-1 (OT) respectively on Saturday in Brooklyn, NY. With the wins, the men improve to 3-1 on the season and 3-0 in CUNYAC play—and are now one win away from clinching the CUNYAC regular season championship—while the women improve to 1-0.
The Lady Panthers got the afternoon started in what was their first game of the 2014 season. Freshman forward Natalya Al-Omary stared on the afternoon, scoring both BMCC goals including the winner which came in the opening moments of extra time. Midfielder Daniela Fernandez and forward Vaneza Quintuna assisted on the goals and keeper Dashka Fonrose made four saves.
The men followed in the women's winning ways, topping the KCC men in a 7-0 dismantling. The goals came from freshmen Angleo Chavez (PEN), Ryo Koiso, Jonathan Lopez, Christian Pacode and sophomore forward Itamar Pereira, who found the next three times. Driton Selimanjin, Abdul Muftau, Kimani Evans and William Grajales all recorded assists. Randy Zacarias won his second game in a row in net, making four saves in the process.
Up next for the men is Orange County Community College on Wednesday, September 24 in Middletown, NY at 4:00 PM. The women welcome the Fashion Institute of Technology to Pier 40 on Thursday, September 25 for their home opener at 12:30 PM.
