Men’s Soccer’s Season Comes to an End

The Panthers were defeated 3-2 by Westchester in the first round of the Region XV playoffs

Box Score BROOKLYN, NY| The Borough of Manhattan Community College men's soccer team was defeated by Westchester Community College 3-2 in the NJCAA Region XV quarterfinal on Saturday afternoon at Kingsborough Community College. BMCC finishes the year with a 7-4-1 record.

After controlling most of the play in the scoreless first half, BMCC surrendered momentum to Westchester in the early going of the second half and eventually allowed their opponents to score three quick goals in the 55th, 60th and 63rd minutes.

The Panthers fired back immediately behind William Grajales' seventh goal of the season in the 64th minute. Itamar Pereira's team-leading ninth goal of the year in the 83rd minute ensured a nervy finish, but in the end Westchester closed up shop and claimed the 3-2 win.

As was the case when the two sides met on October 11, BMCC outshot Westchester (15-11). Panthers keeper Melvin Lopez made four saves.
