Seldon, New York |Â The BMCC Men's Basketball team lost its road, Regional contest up at Suffolk County Community College, 79-52, on Thursday night in Seldon, New York. In defeat, the Panthers fall to 9-8 (6-7 Region XV) on the season, while the Sharks improve to 13-3 (9-3 Region XV) with the victory.Â
Freshman Elvys Ceballos (New York City, New York) dropped a team-high 14 points, while classmate Malik Bentinck (Queens, New York) scored 11 and just missed a double-double by one with a team-best nine boards. Sophomore Curtis Smith (Brooklyn, New York) scored nine points going a career-high 6-for-6 at the line, while fellow upperclassmen Terrance McBride (Brooklyn, New York) dished out a game-high six assists and added seven points of his own.
Suffolk County Community College had three players in double-figures, with freshman guard Quinton Williams leading the way with a game-high 20 points on 8-for-17. Sophomore guard Tyler Carey and Freshman guard Jaxan Swann both chipped in with 12 points. Sophomores Noah Stevenson and Joshua Nunez both recorded game-highs in blocks and steals with five, while freshman Frank Toney distributed a team-high five assists.Â

- Elvys Ceballos (New York City, New York) has posted three-straight double-figure games, while Malik Bentinck (Queens, New York) scored in double figures for the second consecutive game.Â
- Bentinck recorded his 15th double-digit scoring effort, which is second on the team, while Ceballos put up his twelfth double-digit output on the season.
