New York, NY | In the opening round of the Region XV Tournament, the #6 Lady Panthers took on the #3 FIT Tigers (11-4) on Thursday night. BMCC would be looking for their third straight win over FIT after sweeping the Tigers in both regular season meetings between the teams. Following a 14-25 loss in the first set, BMCC rallied back in the second set but could not hold off the Tigers as they fell 27-29. Up 2-0 heading into the third set, the Tigers took care of business in the final set to beat the Lady Panthers for the first time this season.

Despite the opening round loss, BMCC had their most impressive season in recent years as they finished with a 11-6 record in regional games, while going 5-3 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. This season the Lady Panthers had one player named to the All-Region first team, and are expecting to have several players named CUNYAC All-Stars when the conference announces the awards next week.
