Pickett Leads #4 BMCC Men Past Ulster in Regular Season Finale

The Panthers have won 10 in a row and finish the season with a 23-3 (10-0) record

The #4 Borough of Manhattan Community College men's basketball team won its tenth game in a row on Thursday evening, defeating Ulster County Community College 96-39 in the team's final game of the 2014-15 regular season in Stone Ridge, NY. The Panthers finish the season 23-3 (10-0 CUNYAC) and clinch first place in both the NJCAAA Region XV D-III and CUNYAC Community College tournaments.

Sophomore Kelvin Pickett had a career night, leading the Panthers in scoring with 18 points. The guard shot 2-3 from thee and also grabbed a career-best six rebounds. Elijah Bryant was 5-6 from three-point range and scored 17 points.

Neil Viera found his stroke from beyond the arch, too, shooting 4-5 and collecting 14 points. Forwards Lowell Stevens and Kenneth Coar both potted 12 points with the latter also claiming 10 rebounds to earn his team-leading 12th double-double of the season.

The Panthers had by far their best shooting game of the season, firing at 73.5% from the floor, 70.6% from three and 92.3% from the free throw line.

BMCC will face Hostos Community College in the CUNYAC CC Semifinal on Wednesday, February 18 at 6:00 PM inside BMCC Gym. The final will be played on Friday, February 20 at 8:30 PM, also inside BMCC Gym.
