#7 BMCC Men’s Basketball Defeat Dutchess, Wins Fourth in a Row

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY| The #7 Borough of Manhattan Community College men's basketball team defeated Dutchess Community College 77-48 in Poughkeepsie, NY on Sunday afternoon to earn its fourth straight victory. The game was initially set to take place a day before on Saturday but was postponed due to inclement weather.

The Panthers (17-3, 7-0 CUNYAC) were led by rookie sensation Kenneth Coar, who scored 17 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked three shots. Center Akeem Williams potted 14 points, grabbed 12 boards and blocked three shots as well.

In the backcourt, Elijah Bryant scored 11 and Joseph Ojo potted seven and kicked out three assists.

BoGregory Garcia and Cal Stanback both led Dutchess in scoring with eight points apiece.

As a team, the Panthers absolutely dominated Dutchess on the boards, outrebounding their opponent 59-19. BMCC also held a steep advantage in overall shooting from the floor (63.6%-45.0%). The Panthers are currently first in the nation in opponents' field goal percentage (34.6%).

Up next for the Panthers is Suffolk County Community College who visit Manhattan on Thursday, January 29. The evening gets started at 6:00 PM when the Lady Panthers and their Suffolk counterparts play the first part of the doubleheader, and the men finish of the evening with a 8:00 PM tip.
