Late Comeback Not Enough, Panthers Fall 80-74 to KCC

Brooklyn, N.Y. – The BMCC men's basketball team fell 80-74 to Kingsborough Community College on Tuesday night at KCC.

The Panthers kept it close in the 1st half until a late surge by the Wave made the halftime score 37-29. The 2nd half the Wave continued to pressure on the defensive end and make plays on the offensive end to build up a 21 point lead with just over 8 minutes remaining. The Panthers began to chip away at the lead cutting it to six points with 1:13 to go. The Wave would make free throws down the stretch to seal with win.

The Panthers were led by Joseph Ojo, who returned to form with 15 points. Akeem Williams notched another double-double with 11 points and 17 rebounds. It was his 5th on the season.

Cashawn McFadden led all scorers with 19 points, he also had 12 assists and seven steals. Eddie Kinloch scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds. David Campbell chipped in with 17 points.

The Panthers return to action Thursday, February 13th when they travel to Stone Ridge to take on SUNY Ulster. Tip-off is 7:30pm.
