Panthers Pounce on Senators, Remain Undefeated

BMCC’s improves to 3-0 in 82-33 victory

Box Score NEW YORK, NY| The Borough of Manhattan Community College men's basketball team defeated Ulster County Community College by the score of 82-33 on Saturday afternoon in New York, NY. With the win the Panthers improve to 3-0 on the season while Ulster drops to 0-3.

For the second-straight game, the Panthers gained an early lead and never allowed their opponents and chance to claw back. After the first half, BMCC held a 44-12 lead. The biggest lead was held at 2:38 of the second half, when the Panthers were up 51 points.

The greatest takeaway from the contest for BMCC was its balanced scoring. 13 players recorded points, with freshman Neil Viera leading the pack for the second-straight game with 16. The Brooklyn, NY native also grabbed five boards and generated three steals.

Guards Joseph Ojo and Elijah Bryant scored 11 points each—the former added six rebounds and four assists.

Center Akeem Williams scored four points but grabbed 11 boards and recorded five blocks, which ties a career-high. Forward Jericho Cherisma scored six and grabbed 14 rebounds off the bench.
Center Jyair Willis and guard Mike Ryan led Ulster in scoring with 10 points each.

BMCC held sizeable advantages in bench scoring (34-17), points in the paint (26-10), fast break points (10-0) and second chance points (17-4). The Panthers dominated the boards (56-31) as well.

Up next for BMCC is CUNYAC rival Kingsborough Community College. The Panthers will travel to Brooklyn, NY on Tuesday, November 11 for a 7:30 PM tip.
