Men’s Basketball Holds Off Nassau for Eighth Win of the Season

Neil Viera and Elijah Bryant led BMCC with 15 points each

Box Score GARDEN CITY, NY| The Borough of Manhattan Community College men's basketball team improved to 8-1 in 2014-15 on Saturday afternoon when they defeated a nationally ranked Nassau Community College side 69-66 in Garden City, NY.

Leading scorer Elijah Bryant scored 15 points and added six rebounds in the win, while forward Neil Viera also contributed 15 points in addition to grabbing five boards of his own.
 

Power forward Kenneth Coar recorded his fourth double-double of the season, scoring 12 points and claiming 10 rebounds. Point guard Joseph Ojo potted nine points and recorded four assists on the afternoon.

 

As has been the case most of the season, the Panthers out-rebounded the Lions (40-26) and also generated more turnovers (11-7).


Up next for the Panthers is Queensborough Community College who BMCC welcomes to campus on Tuesday, November 25 for a 7:30 PM tip. The BMCC and QCC women will play beforehand at 5:30 PM.
