Panthers Fall To SUNY Rockland

New York, N.Y. - The BMCC Panthers lost 83-69 to SUNY Rockland on Thursday night at the BMCC Athletic Center.

After getting behind early in the game, the Panthers tightened up defensively and caught fire offensively.  With the score 18-11, Rockland, with 14:06 remaining in the half, the Panthers went on a 15-2 run to take a 26-20 lead. The Hawks would fight back to take a 40-35 halftime lead.

The Panthers were led by CUNYAC Community College Player of the Week Brandon Herriot who scored 21 points and seven rebounds. Joseph Ojo scored 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting. Akeem Williams dominated the glass, grabbing a game-high 15 rebounds.

The Panthers kept it close early in the 2nd half tying the game twice but the Hawks would prove to be too strong.

The Hawks were led by Jason Quijada's game-high 25 points, on 7-of-11 from 3-point land. David Haye chipped in with 20 points and Kahreign Joseph had 17 points and 10 rebounds.  

The Panthers return to action Saturday afternoon against Region XV foe, SUNY Dutchess. Game time is 2pm.
