The Panthers started out the game on fire, opening up a 12-3 at the 15:06 mark of the 1st half but Rockland charged right back to close the gap to 12-10 and the game remained close until the very last minutes of the game.

The Hawks led 34-33 at the half with Region XV Player of the Year Tommie Starkes leading all scorers with 13 points. The Panthers were led by Taishaun Jenkins' 9 points and freshman Ralph Mohammed's 6 points. Mohammed played a significant role in the 1st half with Valon Djambolic on the bench with two fouls.

In the 2nd half the Panthers made a concerted effort to take advantage of Djambolic in the post, the 2nd Team All-Star had 11 of his team high 16 points in the 2nd half. Trailing by six at the 18:26 mark, Djambolic made two layups and after a steal and layup by Chris Best the Panthers tied the game at 41. The Hawks left the door open for the Panthers to come back but a critical shot clock violation and missed layup sealed the Panthers fate as the Hawks would go on to make their free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.

The Panthers finished the season 10-15, a five win improvement over last season.
