Panthers Falter On The Road

Box Score

The Panthers came into action today looking for their second conference win on the season and a place atop the CUNY Athletic Conference standings as they took on the Caimans of Hostos Community College.  The Caimans, who looked to push the tempo, got out to the early lead against the Panthers by a score of 12-6 after the first five and a half minutes of play.  BMCC held tough throughout the first half, behind the strong first half play of Taishaun Jenkins(Sophomore, Brooklyn, NY), who finished the game with a team-high 16 points(5-8 from the field) to go along with 5 rebounds and 2 assists, entered the intermission trailing Hostos by a score of 30-25.  The Panthers came out of the locker room putting the 1st bucket of the half on the board cutting the Caimans lead down to only three(30-27).  Unfortunately, the Panthers would not get any closer on the night and the Caimans would finish the game by outscoring BMCC 49 to 23 the rest of the way to pull away for a 79-50 victory.

With the loss, the Panthers now drop to (2-4 overall, 1-1 conference) and will look to put an end to their two game skid this Sunday, December 9th in a Region XV road match-up against the Falcons of Dutchess Community College.
