Panthers Defeat Wave

The Panthers entered play against the Wave of Kingsborough Community College looking for their second consecutive win overall to push their overall record back .500 while also looking for their 2nd conference victory on the season which would propel themselves into 2nd place overall in the CUNYAC standings.  BMCC started off the game with on point shooting and shut down defense as the Panthers went on a 20-7 run forcing the Wave into a timeout with 12:41 remaining in the first half.  The Wave would be resilient in the first half, closing the gap to 24-19 with 7:28 to play before intermission and eventually cut the deficit down to 2 points as the Panthers took a 38-36 lead into the break.  The Panthers behind the play of Taishaun Jenkins(Sophomore, Brooklyn, NY) and Valon Djombalic(Sophomore, Brooklyn, NY) would never relinquish the lead in the second half and eventually pushed their lead back to double digits before finishing with a 73-66 victory.  Taishaun finished with a team-high 23 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 4 assists while Valon recorded his third double-double of the season finishing with 19 points on 8-9 shooting from the field and 13 rebounds.
