New York, New York – The CUNY Athletic Conference announced the weekly awards for CUNYAC CC Baseball on Monday. BMCC shortstop
Frank Reyes (Brooklyn, New York) was recognized as the league's Rookie of the Week after his performance in the Panthers' four games last week. The honor is his first of the season, and he is the first Panther baseball player to receive the honor post-pandemic since
Andys Ventura received it on April 2, 2019.
During the BMCC's four games last week,
Reyes spearheaded the Panther's offense posting a .500 batting average (5-for-10) with five hits, two doubles, three runs scored, and three steals. Both of his doubles came at home against Nassau Community College on April 21.
Reyes currently leads the team on the season with a .389 batting average, 14 hits, four multi-hit games, and three doubles.
The Panthers return home to Padavan-Preller Complex on Tuesday, April 26, for the first of their final two home contests of the season against Monroe-Bronx at 3:30 p.m. For more information, please visit the
