(New York, NY) - The Panthers opened up CUNY Conference play with a walk-off win vs. Queensborough Community College. BMCC came into the series in search of their first victory following back to back sweeps vs. Nassau Community College and Monroe University - Bronx. The tone was set early and often by sophomore
Michael Marra (Staten Island, NY). The Staten Island native took the hill for the Panthers, tossing an impressive 7.1 innings, allowing only 3 earned runs while registering a career-high 11 strikeouts. In addition to his strong pitching performance, Marra also contributed from the plate, going 1-3 with 1 walk, including a grounds rule double with the bases loaded. The Tigers mounted a late-inning comeback, plating 5 runs in the 8th inning to tie the game. The Panthers would not be deterred as they worked the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th inning, with
Brennan Rivas (New York, NY) drawing a bases loaded walk to bring in the game winning run.
With the win, the Panthers improve to (1-8 Overall, 1-0 CUNY).
