(New York, NY) - The Panthers defeated Dutchess Community College by a score of 3-1.
Brennan Rivas (New York, NY) started the game for the Panthers going an impressive 8+ innings giving up only 1 earned run on 3 hits while striking out 7 Falcons. The freshman took a shut out into the 9th inning looking for the 1st complete game of his career. Although he came up just short of a complete game, Rivas became the all-time single season strikeout leader in BMCC history. He currently stands at an impressive 43 K's in 39.2 innings pitched.
Sebastian Oliveras (Bronx, New York) took to the mound in the 9th, in relief of Brennan, and picked up his first career save.
Offensively, BMCC was led by freshman
Christopher Toribio (Bronx, New York) who batted in all 3 runs for the Panthers. The first baseman went 1-for-3 with a walk on the day.
Wiljer Casana and Mike Marra were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected a game-high two hits for the Panthers.
