Feasting on The CUNYAC
Sophomore Terrance McBride (Brooklyn, New York) and freshman Malik Bentinck (Queens, New York) enter Wednesday's CUNYAC semifinals firing on all cylinders. Bentinck comes into tournament play with eight consecutive double-figure games, while McBride has posted six straight. McBride has finished in double-figures a team-high 22 times in 23 games, while Bentinck has racked up 21 double-digit scoring performances in 23 contests this season, which is good for second. McBride and Bentinck have dominated CUNYAC competition with both finishing in double-figures in all 12 games, while McBride has averaged 21.2 points per game, and Bentinck has posted 20.8 points per game. Bentinck recorded a career-high 30 points against Bronx Community College back on Dec. 10, 2019, and has scored 25-plus points in two other CUNYAC games (26 points against Kingsborough and 25 points against Queensborough).

Bentinck Doubles Up
Freshman Malik Bentinck (Queens, New York) is a double-double waiting to happen each time he steps on the hardwood. He leads the Panthers with 16 double-double efforts in 23 contests this season, with seven in 12 league games this year, including two each against Hostos, Bronx, and Kingsborough. The Queens native enters Tuesday's matchup off of four straight double-double efforts while putting up a career-high 30 points and 24 rebounds – including 18 points and 13 rebounds in the first-half - against Bronx Community College. He also had a streak of nine straight double-doubles from Nov. 21, 2019 until Jan. 16, 2020.

Coming Down To The Wire
The Panthers and Broncos have had two epic battles this season, with both being decided by five points or less. BMCC erased a ten-point second-half deficit to rally on a Terrance McBride (Brooklyn, New York) jumper late to surge to an 82-81 victory back on Dec. 10, 2019. Bronx C.C. got revenge in the second matchup holding off another late BMCC second-half rally, which got the deficit down to two twice, to win 94-89.

How They Got Here

Nationally-ranked No. 13 Hostos enters the 2020 CUNYAC Men's Basketball Championship as the top seed, winning the regular-season title for a second consecutive season. The Caimans posted a 21-6 record overall and finished with a 7-1 conference mark, highlighted by six straight victories before being knocked off by Bronx C.C. 96-93 back on Feb. 6.

Bronx secured the No. 2 seed for the CUNYAC Men's Basketball tournament after concluding conference play with a 6-2 record. The Broncos are 11-15 overall and handed Hostos their only CUNYAC loss of the season, while their other league loss was to BMCC by one, 82-81, back on Dec. 10, 2019.

The two-time defending champion and host BMCC is penciled in as the third seed for the 2020 CUNYAC Men's Basketball Championship after finishing .500 (6-6) against conference competition. The Panthers enter Wednesday's semifinals with a 10-13 record overall and have dropped their last three games. They also won two of their six league games by one point each at home (82-81 against Bronx and Queensborough 85-84).

The Tigers round out the 2020 CUNYAC Men's Basketball Championship as the No. 4 seed after finishing 12-12 overall and 3-5 in conference play while winning just one contest in their last seven tries.
