NEW YORK, NY - Following a 2-1 road trip to start the season, the Panthers returned to Chambers Street for their 2025-26 home opener vs. the Lions of Nassau Community College. Looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss at the buzzer vs. LaGuardia CC, the Panthers came with an emphasis on the defensive end which resulted into a 17-8 lead halfway through the first-half. The Panthers continued their strong play and took a 37-28 lead into the half; following a 3 pointer at the buzzer by freshman
Jayport Smith (Bronx, New York). The second half proved to be more of the same as the stifling Panther defensive propelled the lead to 50-38 just 4 minutes into the 2nd half. Freshman
Alden Cornelius (Brooklyn, New York) contributed with the 1st double-double of his career, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds, including 2 huge put-back dunks. BMCC would continue to apply the pressure and coast to a 78-57 victory. With the win, the Panthers improve to 3-1 overall, 1-1 conference.
