New York, New York | Region XV announced the 2019 Division III All-Regional selections on Wednesday. Six total members from both the men's and women's soccer teams, along with one member of the women's volleyball squad, were honored. Freshman Seydou Diallo (Brooklyn, New York) and his brother Djiby Diallo (New York, New York) were named All-Region XV First Team.

Classmate Michael Konadu (Kwahu, Ghana) received All-Region XV Second Team honors, while sophomore Otto Manuel Sabalza (Brooklyn, New York) got All-Region Honorable mention. Underclassmen Lisa Velasquez (Brooklyn, New York) and CadeJah  McLaren (Mount Vernon, New York) both garnered All-Region XV Second Team honors, alongside sophomore Nolverys Fernandez (Santiago, Dominican Republic).

Earlier this month, Diallo was chosen by CUNYAC Community College head coaches as the Conference Athlete of the Year after a breakout freshman campaign. He scored a team-best 11 goals and led the Panthers with 26 points, while his four assists were good for second on the team. Diallo also twinkled the twine in nine of 13 matches for the Panthers, while recording three multi-goal games on the season, including a hat-trick in the 2019 CUNYAC Community Men's Soccer Championship. 

His brother Dijiby buried a total of five goals and posted 11 points, both currently tied for second and third on the team. He recorded two tallies twice this year in the opener against Regional opponent Monroe College and non-conference opponent Rockland. 

During his first campaign at BMCC, Konadu dished out a team-high five assists and scored two goals for a total of 11 points, which was also tied for third. He dished out a season-high two assists against conference opponent Kingsborough back on September 28th, while finding the back of the net twice in the Panthers epic comeback victory against Bronx Community College on the road, earlier in the season.

Sabalza was a mainstay on the Panther defense, with 11 starts in 13 appearances this season.

This trio helped lead the Panthers to their tenth CUNYAC Community College Championship and the third in the last four seasons. The team finished the regular season 7-2-3 Overall and 6-2-2 in Regional play. 

Velasquez led all scorers with five goals and 11 points. McLaren backstopped the Panthers defense with a team-best 62 saves.

Fernandez led all swingers with 177 kills and team-highs with 242 digs and 49 service aces, all three career-highs. She posted double-digits in six matches this year, a team-best, while her six double-doubles were tied for first on the team.

Sophomores Domagoj Budimir-Bekan (Split, Croatia) and Lauren Malcolm (Bronx, New York), and McLaren all were selected named to the All-Regional sportsmanship team.
