Box Score 3 New York, NY | The Lady Panthers' teams were both in action on Saturday afternoon, with the soccer team traveling to Paramus, NJ to take on the Bergen Bulldogs and the volleyball team hosting a doubleheader against the SUNY Orange Colts and SUNY Sullivan Generals. After falling to SUNY Orange in straight sets, BMCC bounced back with a 3-1 victory over the Generals. The women's soccer team jumped out to an early lead against the Bulldogs, but came up short in a 6-3 defeat.
The Lady Panthers soccer team got on the board first with a goal from
Cindy Daza in the 38
th minute, assisted by freshman
Florjeta Lubani. Shortly after, freshman striker
Victoria Koga found the back of the net with her first goal of the match. Bergen would answer back with 3 goals of their own in the first half, and piled on with another three in the second half. Koga scored once more on an assist from
Cindy Daza for her second goal of the match, and third goal of the season. The loss will bring the Lady Panthers record to 1-4 on the season, their next match will be on Tuesday when they host the Monroe Express at Pier 40.

The women's volleyball team began the day with a matchup against one of the top teams in Region 15, coming into the match, SUNY Orange had just two losses this season. Following a blowout in the first set, the Lady Panthers rallied back with a pair of strong outings in the second and third set, but it would not be enough as the Colts came away with a three set victory (12-25, 21-25, 22-25). Freshman
Yolireisi Pichardo led BMCC with a match-high 17 kills to go along with her solo block. Sophomore
Jennifer Chacon led all players with 23 assists while libero
Nisha Rosario was strong defensively with 13 digs.
In the next match, BMCC nearly won in straight sets before a minor setback in the third set, but ultimately came away with a victory after a dominant fourth set from Chacon. The Lady Panthers setter recorded 7 of her 15 service aces in the final set of the match to propel BMCC to a 14 point run to pull away from the Generals.
