Panthers settle for tie with Hostos

Box Score     The Panthers (2-1-1 overall, 1-0-1 conference) settle for tie versus the Caimans of Hostos Community College (1-0-2 overall, 0-0-2 conference) tonight at Pier 40.  The Caimans jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with the opening goal by Soulyemane Sidibe in the 25th minute.  Despite the deficit, the Panthers stayed aggressive and scored the equalizer with 10 minutes remaining in the 1st half.  The Panthers goal came when Kalief Lindo hit Mohamed Messiheddine on a crossing pass through the box and Mohamed found the back of the net for a 1-1 tie.  The Panthers remained the aggressor for the duration of the game, putting a total of 31 shots on goal, but could not break the 1-1 tie in regulation.  After two 10-minute overtimes, and numerous opportunities for the Panthers, the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

With the tie, the Panthers remain undefeated in CUNY Conference play and will travel to Coney Island to take on the Kingsborough Wave this Saturday, September 22nd, at 1:30PM as they look for their 2nd conference victory of the season.
