Bethpage, New York – The Borough of Manhattan Community College men's cross country program kicked off its 2024 season at the St. Joseph's College Golden Eagle Invitational at Bethpage State Park. The Panthers men's 8K featured a competitive field of 165 runners from NCAA Division III and Region 15 programs. Panther's freshman William Fernandez (New York, New York) had an outstanding debut, setting a new school record with a time of 31:08 and finishing fourth amongst Region 15 runners in the field and 58th overall.
Freshmen Demid Shcheunikov (Brooklyn, New York), Matthew Konyukhov (Brooklyn, New York), and Hassani Bangurah (Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania) all crossed the finish lines with times of 34:21.1, 38:19.5, and 41:40.8.
