Cross Country Crowned Region Champions
NEW YORK, NY - The Panthers finished off an amazing regular season with a 1st place performance at the 2025 Cross Country Region XV Championship! With the win, in just year 4 as a program, the Panthers earned the schools first ever Region XV Cross Country Championship at the St. Joseph's Invitational. Head Coach
Ricardo Villanueva was also named Region XV Cross Country Coach of the Year.
Leading the way for the Panthers was sophomore
William Fernandez (New York, New York) who finished 29th overall with a time of 31:24.2. Joining Fernandez in the top 50 were
Thomas Black IV (Queens, New York) and
Saikou Sanyang (Gambia), who finished 48th and 49th overall. Finishing with a time of 33:21.9 and 33:22.0, respectively.
Dalton Ligon (New York, New York) and
Gaury Peralta Valerio (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), each finished in the top 90 overall, to help secure the championship with a final team score of 272.
The Panthers will now rest up and prepare for the NJCAA National Championship. The National Championship will be held in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Saturday, November 8th, 2025.
