BMCC's 4x100 Relay Team Punches Ticket To Nationals To Lead Strong Outing At Coach Omeltchenko Invitational

Kings Point, New York – The BMCC men's outdoor track and field's 4x100 Relay Team of Christian Davis (Queens, New York), Kwame Brempong (Brooklyn, New York), Dontate Creedland (Brooklyn, New York), and Joshua Germain (Brooklyn, New York) headlined another outstanding showing for the Panthers program qualifying for Nationals. The Panthers weren't done on Saturday morning at the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, getting two top-ten finishes from two 4x400 relay teams and individuals Isiah Duffy (Brooklyn, New York) and Michael Sing (Levittown, New York) in the High Jump and 110-meter hurdles. BMCC competed in 12 events total on Sunday.
 
The 4x100 relay team was the lead story for the Panther's men's program, finishing with a time of 47.01, beating the qualifying standard for the event of 48.77 by a second for a seventh-place finish out of a competitive field of ten teams. That wasn't the only men's relay team to make noise, as two pairings from the 4x400 relay teams finished sixth and ninth out of 12 teams in the event. Emmanuel Agyei (Brooklyn, New York), Ysaia Marte (Bronx, New York), Davis, and Germain crossed the tape in sixth with a time of 3:42.59 while the quartet of Trent Santoro (Queens, New York)Charlie Hall (New York, New York)Duffy, and Sing finishing ninth with a time of 3:58.91.
 
Duffy also registered a top-five finish, finishing fifth out of 19 competitors with a personal best with a personal best mark of 5.64m.
 
Sing made it back-to-back top-ten finishes, clocking in at 20.09 in the men's 110-meter hurdles and finishing tenth in the event. Sing also competed in the Men's 400-meter hurdles and finished 12th with a time of 1:11.01.
 
Santoro registered a personal best in the Men's 800 meters with a time of 2:13.84 and a 13th-place finish. Marte and Brempong also posted personal bests on the day, with Marte crossing the tape with a time of 54.17 in the Men's 400 meters and Brempong clocking in at 12.92 in Men's 100 meters for 14th and 16th, respectively.
 
Creedland finished with a time of 12.91 in the Men's 100 meters, while Hall and Davis finished with times of 25.41 and 26.48 in the Men's 200 meters. Germain and Agyei also finished with times of 55.01 and 59.70 in the Men's 400 meters.
 
Tatenda Chikanyairo (Fort Lee, New Jersey) competed in the 1500-meter and 5,000-meter events, posting times of 4:52.98 and 18:51.83, respectively.
 
Hall and Davis also competed in two field events. Hall finished 11th overall (1.60m) in the Men's High Jump, while Davis posted a 5.64m mark in the Men's long jump.
