BMCC Strong Performance Led By George & Mireau at Ramapo Season Opener
NEW YORK, NY - Panthers opened the 2026 Track & Field season with an impressive effort at the Ramapo College Opener. Looking to build off this past season, the Panthers have come into the season with high expectations; with the ultimate goal of competing at NJCAA National Championship in Utica, NY. Pacing the Panthers were freshman Kailey George and Keira Mireau who finished with a time of 1:06.18 and 1:07.16, respectively, both of which have qualified them for the 2026 NJCAA National Championship. Also competing in the 400m on the Womens side was freshman Irisbel Sosa who finished with a time of 1:19.36.
On the men's side, the Panthers were led by Dashaun Simon,
Dalton Ligon and
Christopher Mckenzie. Simon finished with a team best time of 7.59 in the 60m. In the 200m,
Dalton Ligon led all Panthers with a time of 25.28. Sophomore
Christopher Mckenzie paced the Panthers in the 400m with a time of 54.31.
The Panthers are back in action on Friday, February 6th, when they will compete in the Rutgers Scartlet Knight Open at The Armory.
