Bronx, New York - The BMCC Men's Cross Country team finished second among NJCAA Region XV Region competitors on a Sunny afternoon at the Queensborough Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park. The Panthers finished 14th overall with a score of 422 and ahead of 2023 Conference Champion Queensborough Community College. Suffolk Community College was the top Division III finisher from Region XV at the event and seventh place overall.
Freshman William Fernandez (New York, New York) was the Panther's top runner on the afternoon and an improved finish from his first collegiate race finishing 53rd with a time of 34:22.0. Classmate Demid Shcheunikov (Brooklyn, New York) crossed the finish line behind Fernandez with a time of 36:55.7. Fellow underclassman Matthew Konyukhov (Brooklyn, New York) finished with a time of 38:43.0.
Freshmen Hassani Bangurah (Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania), Tchaas Mandulo (Brooklyn, New York), and Dalton Ligon (New York, New York) completed the race with times of 48:48.0, 48:50.0, and 52:18.0.
