Off a successful fourth season that saw the program make its first-ever National Championship appearance in Rocket League in 2022, the Borough of Manhattan Community College will kick off our Fall 2023 Esports season with a series of signup meetings via Zoom. All interested students must attend one meeting to sign up for the BMCC Esports program, and these sessions will also allow us to share updates and help answer all your questions before the season.
The signup meetings will be held on Monday and Wednesday at 2 p.m. over the next three weeks, with the first one on Monday, Aug. 21, and concluding on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

The Panthers Esports program has allowed BMCC students to compete against members from over 180 community colleges across the country over the past three seasons in some of the most popular video games in the world. The NJCAAE has announced the list of gaming titles (consoles in parentheses) they will be offering for season-long tournaments for this Fall 2023 season, including the addition of Tekken and Street Fighter this year. This program will be completely remote, and students must use their gaming equipment and play from home:

- Hearthstone (PC)
- Madden 23 (PS5)

- Super Smash Bros Ultimate (Nintendo Switch)

- Valorant (PC)
The Panthers begin the competition on Monday, Oct. 1. The season schedule will be discussed in depth during the signup meeting.
The program is open to BMCC students only. To be academically eligible new students must be enrolled in 12 or more credits, and returning students must have been enrolled in 12 or more credits with above a 2.0 GPA in the previous (Spring 2023) term and enroll in 12 or more credit hours in the Fall 2023 semester. Experience in competitive gaming is preferred but not required.
