Calling All Gamers! Come Sign Up For Borough of Manhattan Community College's Fall 2022 Esports Season

New York, New York- After three successful seasons, the Borough of Manhattan Community College will kick off our Fall 2022 Esports season with a series of signup meetings via zoom. All interested students must attend one meeting to sign up for the BMCC Esports program, and these sessions will also allow us to share updates and help answer all your questions before the season. 
 
The signup meetings will be held each day from Monday, Aug. 29 through Thursday, Sept. 1 at 3 pm, and students must register for the zoom meeting here: https://bmcc-cuny.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZ0rc--gqz8sHdyvJu_SWa7E72gCopRMCYVj
 
The Panthers Esports program has allowed BMCC students to compete against members from over 180 community colleges across the country in some of the most popular video games in the world. The NJCAAE has announced the list of gaming titles (consoles in parentheses) they will be offering for season-long tournaments for this Fall 2022 season, including the additions of Mario Kart and Halo Infinite this year. Students must use their gaming equipment and play from home while representing BMCC in any of the gaming titles sponsored by the NJCAAE.

  • Overwatch 2 (Cross-Platform) 5v5
  • Rainbow Six Siege (PC) 5v5
  • Rocket League (Cross-Platform) 3v3
  • Super Smash Bros Ultimate (Nintendo Switch) (1v1)
  • Valorant (PC) 5v5
The Panthers begin the competition on Sept. 17, and then the playoffs will begin on Nov. 28. The season schedule will be discussed in depth during the sign up meeting.

The Panthers Esports program is open to BMCC students only. To be academically eligible new students must be enrolled in 12 or more credits, and returning students must have been enrolled in 12 or more credits with above a 2.0 GPA in the previous (Spring 2022) term and enroll in 12 or more credit hours in the Fall 2022 semester. Experience in competitive gaming is preferred but not required.
