Charlotte, NC - In partnership with Army National Guard, the National Junior College Athletic Association sports (NJCAAE) will host industry panel and competition events throughout the upcoming year with a focus on conversations about the hot topics in collegiate esports. In conjunction with these information sessions, NJCAAE member schools will compete in various gaming competitions. The first panel discussion in the series will take place on March 25, via Zoom, while the Rocket League competition between the Borough of Manhattan Community College Panthers and Lackawanna College Falcons will be aired on the NJCAAE Twitch page immediately following the webinar.

Session 1, beginning at 8:00 PM ET on Thursday, March 25, 2021, will feature Kris Weissman, USC-Sumter Esports Head Coach, Jeff White, NJCAAE Executive Director, Bubba Gaeddert, Executive Director of the Varsity Esports Foundation, as well as representatives from the Army National Guard team! The presentations will cover how colleges are recruiting as well as available scholarships and tuition waivers for future collegiate competitors.

"Colleges and Universities across the country have heard of scholastics esports, but not all of them see the value yet. The value lies in admissions, revenue, and loyalty to their university with a new wave of students. Recruiting new students and new sponsors for an esports program sanctioned and supported by the school administration has tremendous benefits for the institution. I am happy to be a part of the NJCAAE event to share and learn why scholastic esports should be its own department at many higher education institutions, says Bubba Gaeddert, Executive Director, Varsity Esports Foundation.

The panels and competition will be made available to all students in high school and college as well as coaches, and parents. The discussion topics will include: the history, growth, and mission of the NJCAAE; Army National Guard opportunities; best practices in recruiting students into your program; insights on scholarship and tuition waivers found in scholastic esports, and there will be an opportunity for a Q&A at the end. In addition to industry influencers, the audience will hear from Army National Guardsman recruits to offer their own personal stories.

For the NJCAAE, this series comes at a great time. As Kris Weissman, Director of Student Life and Esports USC Sumter states, "Engaging our high school communities with esports is one of the most important aspects college programs can provide. While this helps colleges, it also gives students opportunities they may have never thought possible. Esports opens the doors to college in many ways, and two-year schools offer a unique environment for growth, development, and success!"

Upon registration, registrants, in correlation with NJCAAE partner SQWAD, will be entered into a raffle to win HyperX gear which includes: the HyperX Alloy Origins Keyboard, the HyperX Cloud Alpha S Gaming Headset, or the HyperX Pulsefire Raid Mouse.
