New York, New York – The Borough of Manhattan The Borough of Manhattan Community College Esports program made a statement in week three of NJCAA competition. The BMCC Valorant squad closed out the week atop the standings, while their Call of Duty Cold War and Warzone squads both notched their second straight victories and Super Smash Brothers took all three matches in individual play.
After cruising through their first two matches, the BMCC Valorant team Abel Perez (Bronx, NY), Christian Vasquez (Brooklyn, NY), Imran Muhammad (Bronx, NY), Julio Lozano (Bronx, NY), Justin Too (New York, NY), Ryan Castro (Bronx, NY), and Umair Irshad (Brooklyn, NY) withstood every challenge thrown their way on Friday evening to hold off Dawson Community College, 13-8. The Panthers will look to stay in first place this Friday, March 5th, at 7 p.m. against St. Clair County Community College.
The brooms were out for all three Panther's individuals in Super Smash Brothers against Ocean County College. Abel Perez (Bronx, NY) went back to his bread and butter, Kirby, to stay unscathed in a come from behind 4-3 decision over Nicholas Bushell, while Ivan Minaya (New York, NY) picked up his second straight victory 4-0, victory against Alex Restivo. Jonathan Wegter (Brooklyn, NY) also got back in the win column in his first live game of the season, 4-0, over Luke Leonard. All three competitors will look to continue their winning ways Tuesday evening, March 2nd at 5 p.m. Perez and Wegter both square off against Mott Community College, and Minaya faces Monroe Community College.

Abu Sakil (Bronx, NY) picked up win number one of the spring season in a tight 2-1 victory over Nassau Community College, 2-1 on Tuesday evening. NBA2K1's Caleb Miller (Brooklyn, NY) won back-to-back matches with a 2-0 win against Gogebic Community College, and Jarrett Thomas (Brooklyn, NY) picked up his second straight win via forfeit on Thursday night.
Sakil will get Nassau Community College for the second consecutive week and will look to make it two straight victories this Tuesday, March 2nd live on twitch by clicking here. Miller will look to for three consecutive wins and stay in playoff contention against Bryant and Stratton on Thursday evening, March 4th at 6 p.m., while Thomas will try to chalk up another victory against Navarro College.
The Panther's Call of Duty Cold War team Aisha Ellis (Queens, NY), Christian Vasquez (Brooklyn, NY), Jarrett Thomas (Brooklyn, NY), Jose Brazoban (Bronx, NY), Justin Jacobs (Queens, NY), Pablo Romero (Queens, NY), and Raheem Redway (Yonkers, NY) finished the week with another victory 2-0 over Northern Virginia Community College, and Warzone defeated Crowley College via forfeit. Call of Duty Warzone and Cold War will be back on Wednesday, March 3rd at 7 p.m. against Northeastern Technical College, and Cold War on Friday, March 5th at 5 p.m. versus Nassau Community College. BMCC Rocket League's Dakarie Downie (Brooklyn, NY), Kevin Martinez (Brooklyn, NY), Jonathan Colvin (New York, NY), and Gamalier Rodriguez (New York, NY) fell 4-0 against Hudson Valley Community College on Thursday evening.
