Women's Soccer Opens Season with a Win

Box Score Paramus, NJ | Following a tough 2015 season, BMCC named Modou Seck the new head coach of the Lady Panthers soccer team this past offseason. With the two-time CUNYAC Men's Soccer coach of the year at the helm, the Panthers entered the 2016 campaign with high hopes. The Lady Panthers began their season by traveling to New Jersey to take on the Bulldogs of Bergen Community College.

BMCC would strike first on a corner kick taken by Arely Martinez that found the back of the net off of a header from freshman Yosselin Alvarez. Strong defending would keep the Bulldogs out of the net for the length of the game, resulting in the first clean sheet recorded by the Lady Panthers in the past 4 seasons.

After a stellar start to the season, the women's soccer team will look to carry the momentum into their next match. They will take on the Suffolk County Sharks on Monday, September 12th in Selden, NY, this match is set to begin at 4pm.
