Men’s Soccer Defeats Orange, Extends Win-Streak to Three Games

Forward Itamar Pereira’s goal streak also extended to three games

Box Score MIDDLETOWN, NY| The Borough of Manhattan Community College men's soccer team defeated Orange County Community College 3-1 Wednesday evening in Middletown, NY. With the win, the Panthers extended their winning streak to three games and improved to 4-1 on the season.

BMCC's Abdul Muftau opened the first-half scoring when he slotted a ball in from right in front of goal for his second goal of the season. Itamar Pereira doubled the Panthers' lead when his in-close strike beat the Orange keeper. Pereira has now scored in three straight games and has five goals on the season. A penalty conversion by Orange ensured the hosts would enter halftime down just one.

But William Grajales' fourth goal of the season wrapped up the win for the Panthers in the second half. Grajales—who has scored four times in the last three games—finished cooly in front after Muftau found the sophomore in the box.

Keeper Randy Zacarias made one save in the victory. BMCC fired 12 shots toward the Orange goal, with six of them challenging the keeper.
