Men’s Soccer Loses to Queensborough in CUNYAC Final

Kimani Evans scored the Panthers’ lone goal in the 3-1 loss

Box Score MASPETH, NY| The Borough of Manhattan Community College men's soccer team lost to Queensborough Community College 3-1 on Monday night in the City University of New York Athletic Conference Community College Championship which took place at Metropolitan Oval in Maspeth, NY. Despite the loss, BMCC was crowned regular-season champion after going 4-0.

Sebastian Ramirez scored for the Tigers in the 13th minute, and before the end of the half the midfielder doubled QCC's lead when he converted a penalty in the 27th minute.
BMCC's Kimani Evans would bring the Panthers to within one goal when he slip home a 43rd minute goal.

After starting the second half strong, BMCC was given a boost when QCC's Manuel Amaya was shown a red card in the 58th minute. But the Panthers were unable to capitalize and eventually allowed a 77th minute goal that sealed their 3-1 fate.

BMCC keeper Melvin Lopez made eight saves on 15 shots. The Panthers managed 19 shots.

Next up for BMCC is Westchester Community College in the NJCAA Region XV Quarterfinal on Saturday, October 25 a 1:00 PM at Kingsborough Community College.
