Panthers Feast on Hawks

Box Score
The Panthers extended their unbeaten streak to 5 consecutive games with the 3-0 victory on the campus of Rockland CC.  Along with their unbeaten streak, the Panthers also continued their aggressive offensive attack, placing 19 shots on goal to the Hawks 4, and their stout defensive play anchored by  team Captain and Goalkeeper Irvin Barreto(Freshman, Mexico) who recorded his 3rd consecutive shutout and 5th of the season.

BMCC scored their first goal in the 37th minute when Sophomore Klaudio Shala(Albania) found Brandon Baird(Freshman, Brooklyn, NY) inside the box who scored the goal off his head; his first of the season.  The Panthers kept the pressure on Rockland but were unable to score another goal in the first half.  The Panthers started off the second half with high intensity and pushed Rockland's defense deep into their 18 yard box.  With the pressure applied, Mohammed Abdo(Sophomore, Brooklyn, NY) found Kalief Lindo(Freshman, Jamaica, NY) inside the box and Kalief made sure to put it in the back of the net for a 50th minute goal.  The goal was the 3rd on the season for Kalief and pushed the Panthers lead to 2-0.  The Panthers didn't wait long to add on the 3rd and final goal of the game, as only 35 seconds later Klaudio crossed the ball inside the box to Mohamed Abdo who took a good shot on goal which forced the goalkeeper to make a great save but Kevin Romero (Sophomore, El Salvador) was there to clean-up and put his shot in the back of the net.

Panthers will look to maintain their winning ways in their next match-up which will see them travel out to Long Island to face the Lions of Nassau Community College in a 6pm start on October 3rd.
