Panthers Extend Winning Streak; Defeat Orange 6-0

The Panthers (4-1-1) extended their winning streak with 6-0 road victory against SUNY Orange Colts.  The scoring for the Panthers was early and often with the initial goal coming in the 8th minute when Anton Wesener(Sophomore, Italy) found Mohamed Messiheddine(Sophomore, Algeria) for his 2nd goal of the season.  10 minutes later Fernand Grisales(Sophomore, Colombia) found a cutting Rex Roddick Agyei(Sophomore, Africa) for his 2nd goal of the year and a 2-0 Panthers lead.  The Panthers added two more goals before the half with Mohamed Abdo(Sophomore, Brooklyn, NY) scoring his 3rd goal of season, assisted by Kalief Lino(Freshman, Queens, NY), and then Kalief Lindo adding a goal of his own in the 40th minute assisted by Anton Wesener.  BMCC tacked on two goals in the 2nd half both of which were scored by Yao Mbeou(Sophomore, Lome, Togo).  The first of Yao's 2nd half goals came in the 75th minute on an assist from Niketo Lynch(Freshman, Jamaica) with the final goal coming with 10 minutes remaining on an assist from Stephanos Hondrakis(Freshman, Greece). 

Overall, the Panthers outshot the Colts 15 - 2 which included 7 corner kicks for BMCC.  Defensively the Panthers received stout play from Mohamed Messiheddine, Guadalupe Guzman(Freshman, Mexico City) and Brandon Baird(Freshman, Brooklyn, NY) in front of Goalkeeper Irvin Barreto who recorded his 2nd consecutive shutout and 4th on the season.  The Panthers return to the pitch this Saturday, September 29th at 1pm in a Region XV road match-up against the Fighting Hawks of Rockland Community College.
