Panthers Suffer Tough Defeat vs. Suffolk

Box Score
The Lady Panthers (1-2) suffered a tough 2-0 loss to Suffolk CC in their 2012 Home Opener.  The two teams played a tough first half which saw the Panthers put 3 shots on goal while the Sharks placed 6 shots on goal of their own.  The strong first half play of the Panthers defense and goalkeeper Naomi Lakhan helped the Panthers to a 0-0 tie heading into the half.  The Panthers had a chance to break the scoreless tie in the 60th minute when Karen Romero struck the ball from the top of the box but was stopped by the jumping save from Sharks goalkeeper Crystal Torres.  The Sharks took the 1-0 lead when Forward Danielle Perri broke away from the Panthers defense and was able to strike the ball into the upper 90 in the 77th minute.  The Panthers attempted to come back when Sandra Staniszewski was able to break free from the Sharks defense but her shot went far right.  Sharks reserve Kristen Uherk added a late goal with 12 minutes remaining to give the Sharks the 2-0 victory.

BMCC will return to action this Friday, September 28th at 12:30PM in a Region XV match-up vs. FIT.
