Box Score

The Panthers traveled to Coney Island with one goal in mind: Remain undefeated in CUNY Conference play.  Mission Accomplished!  The Panthers shut out the Wave of Kingsborough Community College 5-0 improving to 3-1-1 (overall) and 2-0-1 in CUNY action.

The victory was a complete team effort which saw 4 different Panthers find the back of the net offensively and stellar defenisve play anchored by Goalkeeper Irvin Barreto.  The Panthers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute when Kevin Romero found Kalief Lindo cutting to the box for his 1st goal of the season.  The first half scoring didn't stop there.  Sophomore Anton Wesener tacked on the next two points for BMCC with his first two goals of the season.  The first goal, assisted by Mohamed Abdo, came in the 35th minute of play and then 5 minutes later Anton added his 2nd goal of the game this one assisted by Klaudio Shala.  With the aggressive offensive attack and strong defensive mindset the Panthers were able to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.  The score remained 3-0 due to the strong play of Goalkeeper Irvin Barreto, who notched his 3rd shutout of the season, until the Panthers were able to add the 4th goal of the game in the 60th minute.  After drawing a foul on Kingsborough, Sophomore Klaudio Shala stepped up for a free kick from 23 yards out and with one swift kick found the back of net for a 4-0 Panthers lead.  BMCC remained aggressive for the duration of the game, placing 19 shots on goal, the 19th which became the 5th and final goal of the game.  The goal came in the 77th minute when Klaudio Shala found Sophomore Defenseman Rex
Roddick Agyei for his first goal of the season.

The win for the Panthers marks the 20th victory of Head Coach Afrim Lajqi's career at BMCC.  The Panthers return to the pitch on Wednesday, September 26th at 4pm when they travel to Middletown, NY to face the Orange C.C. Colts in Region XV play.
