Support your Lady Panthers as they take on the Kingsborough Wave in the 2012 Community College Basketball Championship Final!

New York, NY) The BMCC Lady Panthers will face-off against the Kingsborough Wave in the 2012 CUNYAC/Con Edison Basketball Championships on Friday, February 17th at 6PM on the campus of Queensborough Community College. The Panthers will be seeking their 7th CUNYAC Championship in school history which is most all-time amongst CUNY Community College Women's basketball programs. Veronica Sherman, Panthers Head Coach, is seeking her third CUNYAC Championship. After winning two as a player at BMCC, she now seeks her first as the Head Coach of the program in only her second season. After defeating the 5th seeded Bronx Broncos 47-18 in the CUNY play-in game, the Lady Panthers had a semi-finals match-up against the 1st ranked and defending CUNYAC champion, Queensborough Lady Tigers. Behind a strong team effort and a pair of fabulous freshman, Denea Fleery and Aiyana Harris, the Panthers overcame a 17 point second half deficit to defeat the Lady Tigers 65-59 on their home court. The win setup a rematch between the BMCC Lady Panthers and the Kingsborough Wave who defeated Hostos Community College in the other quarterfinals matchup.
