Lady Panthers Remain Undefeated; Defeat QCC 65-54

Box Score
The 2012-13 BMCC Lady Panthers remained undefeated on the young season, improving to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play, following a 65-54 victory over the Tigers of Queensborough Community College.  The Panthers were matching up with the Tigers for the first time since ending the Tigers 2011-12 season with a semi-final victory in the CUNY Playoffs.  The Tigers, who were playing in their first game of the season, looked to freshman guard Gessell Prentice to carry load offensively.  Although Gessell finished with a game-high 22 points, the Panthers defenisve mad it difficulty for the freshman as she shot only 34% from the field for the game(8-23).  Offensively, the Panthers leaned on Sophomore stand-out Denea Fleary(Jamaica, NY) as she finished with a team-high 18 points(8-13 from the field) as well as 12 rebounds and 5 assists.  The Panthers, who lead throughout the game, received contributions from all members of the team as each player received playing time.  Elesha Dieudonne(Freshman, Brooklyn, NY) was a beast in the low block for the Panthers registering 13 points(6-10 from the field) and 15 rebounds(6 offensive boards).

With the win, the (#10)Lady Panthers improve to (3-0 overall, 1-0 conference) and will next take the court this Thursday, November 29th, at home against the Vikings of Westchester Community College with tip set for 5:30pm.
