|Â Â The men's basketball team squared off against the #6 ranked team in the nation on Saturday. The Panthers kept within striking distance throughout the game, but were unable to pull off the upset on the road, losing by a final score of 75-87.
In the losing effort,
Brandon Williams racked up an impressive 27 points while shooting 50% from the field. This marks the fourth game in a row, and 8th time this season, WIlliams has surpassed 20 points.
Jonathan Jones has emerged as a leading scoring threat for the Panthers in the second half of the season. In today's game, the sophomore went 5-9 for 13 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard
Matthew Boyd was a facilitator today on offense, dishing out 9 assists while adding 5 points and 8 rebounds.
The Panthers will travel to Queens on Tuesday to take on the Tigers in a CUNYAC showdown. Tipoff is set for 7:30pm.
