Women’s Basketball Falls On Road To Hostos Community College In Conference Play On Tuesday Night

Bronx, New York - The BMCC women's basketball fell in the regular season finale to Hostos Community College 95-46 on Tuesday night at the Swamp in Bronx, New York. The Panthers fall to 7-13 (5-5 CUNYAC), while the Caimans improve to 18-3 (10-0 CUNYAC).
 
Sophomore Emily Kennedy (Brooklyn, New York) put up her team-leading 20th double-figure game and her 32nd straight dating back to the 2022-23 season with a team-high 14 points while snagging a team-best eight steals. Freshman Mariah Wigfall (New York, New York) led the Panthers on the glass with a team-high nine boards, and classmate Stephany Coward (Queens, New York) dished out a team-best three assists.
 
BMCC had their 12th straight game with double-digit steals, posting 13 on the evening with four players recording steals. Wigfall grabbed three steals while classmates Jania Simmons (Brooklyn, New York) and Stephany Coward (Queens, New York) each had one.
 
Kennedy moved into second all-time in program history with 643 career points, surpassing LaToya Steele's career total of 636 career points from 2002-2004, and is 67 points away from Fanta Sissoko's mark of 710 career points, which is the most in school history. Kennedy continues to rewrite program all-time and single-season marks, being the third and fourth player in school history to register 100 plus steals and 100 plus assists in a single season
 
Kennedy leads the Panthers with 103 assists and 101 stealswith her steals being the third most in a single season and her assists ranking fourth most in a single season
 
Kennedy is second all-time in steals with 151 snags for her career and fourth all-time with 140 career assists while being the eighth player in program history to record 300 career rebounds with her 300 career boards ranking eighth all-time in school history.
 
Wigfall is second with 79 steals, which is the sixth most in a single season and ninth all-time in program history. Jackson also had a block on the night and now has a team-best 24 blocks, which is sixth all-time in program history and eighth most in a single-season.
